Terrence Yang is the Bugleverse’s last ordinals partisan — the man the show keeps as its designated worst voice on Twitter Spaces, its most decorated Harris booster, and the ordinals-civil-war casualty who was, in the record’s most-repeated fact about him, “caught trading ordinals in the men’s bathroom” at Bitcoin 2024 Nashville and has not been seen since.1 He is never a guest; he is a recurring off-air antagonist the hosts narrate at, the perennial other end of a Shinobi Space, and a fixed negative pole on nearly every affect scale the show draws.

The last ordinals holdout

By the summer of 2024 the show treats ordinals as a settled, retired argument — normalized, out of fashion, its remaining defenders relocated to a metaphorical Xbox Live server of fourteen diehards. Yang is named as the sole holdout who never got the memo: asked whether ordinals are over, Rod Palmer allows that “Terrence would have, Terrence Yang would have an opinion on that. I don’t think he’s over it, but I think most people are.”2 That refusal to move on is his entire characterization. He is written into a cold open “at home pouting while playing the world’s smallest violin,”3 and by the following spring the diagnosis has a clinical name: Rod lists the sufferers of “David Bailey derangement syndrome” — Deeter Bob, Yang, and Pledditor — whose shared symptom is replying to any Bitcoin Magazine employee to blame them for ordinals.4 When Yang crashes an interview months later, the two grievances arrive together and unedited: “Shinobi is at the conference calling everyone retards,” and “This is David Bailey’s fault.”5 He also earns a standing seat in the show’s roll call of self-appointed maximalist enforcers, ranked among “Corey, than David, than Terrence Yang, then Platter, then Dick Whitman.”6

The bathroom bust

The holdout’s disgrace is the show’s most durable Yang lore, and it hardens into Bugle-of-record fact through sheer repetition. It is first broken as news in July 2024: he “got caught on TikTok offering a stranger an ordinal in the bathroom” at the conference and was carried out by the Secret Service as unregistered security.7 The following week he is reported to have denied it and claimed COVID instead — a cover the hosts read as karma “for living a double life,”8 and an opening for the Bugle’s foundational medical doctrine, that “everybody knows, you know, cigarettes cure COVID” and so a smoker would never have gotten sick at a conference in the first place.9 Thereafter the episode is quoted as established precedent: “Nobody has seen or heard from Terrence since he got busted trying to trade ordinals” in the men’s room,1 a story Rod re-tells to Junseth‘s cosign — “Classic Terrence”10 — and years later files as the founding example of the get-caught scandal genre, “when Terrence Yang was caught trading ordinals in the men’s bathroom” back in Nashville.11 Even a Predyx betting-book ad keeps him on the hook, wagering that “David Bailey will promote pump and dump ordinal scams. Hey, Terrence.”12

Nobody wants to be in his Spaces

Yang’s second running function is to be the least appealing person on Bitcoin Twitter, measured in Spaces airtime. Richard Greaser fixes the baseline early: there is not “a single woman in the world that would consider going on Twitter spaces and arguing with Terrence Yang about CTV a romantic date.”13 The scale is later made explicit against Dennis Porter as its opposite, warmer pole — you want to be reminded of Porter, not Yang, whose recorded Spaces audio is the thing you would pipe over a loudspeaker to “demoralize, like, prisoners of war.”14 His designated sparring partner is Shinobi, and the pairing is a fixture the hosts return to for years: PODCONF allegedly needs Shinobi “to be angry” and “to fight with Terrence” because the feud is the better product;15 a listener boost restarts it with “Shinobi misses Twitter spaces with Terrence Yang”;1 Yang crashes the Vegas Mandrake livestream to report that he “does very much miss” fighting Shinobi in Spaces;16 and Rod’s standing dream card remains “to be in spaces again with Shenobi and Terrence at the same time.”17 As late as July 2026 the format still holds, with “Mars crashing out today on twitter spaces with the this terrence guy.”18

The Harris ambassador

Yang is the show’s face of the 2024 pro-Democrat Bitcoiner faction. When Rod reports the emergence of Cypherpunks for Harris, Yang is named as its outspoken partisan, “crypto for Harris ambassador” written into his profile.19 The affiliation is durable enough to serve as a slur to deflect: accused by a listener boost of secretly being a White Dude for Harris, Rod denies it in the first person and pins the label back on Yang — “I’ve never been a white dude for years… That was that was Terrence” — a coalition Rod says he could only join if his time preference were low enough to “hang out with Terrence and Mike Brock in the same room.”20

Excommunicated from Swan

The one first-hand account of Yang comes from Junseth, who casts him as an in-house enforcer of Swan Bitcoin orthodoxy. By Junseth’s telling, someone “of Swan Bitcoin told me this, that I was bad for Bitcoin and bad for Swan. He told me I was a transphobe” — a badge Junseth says he then wore proudly on his own profile,21 and the seed of the antiswantism bit. It is the only time the record hands Yang a documented win over anyone; Rod immediately counters with the bathroom story to even the ledger.10

Note on the name

The ASR spells him “Terence Yang” as often as correctly, and mangles him further into bare descriptors — “carrots” in one Selection Special cue, “this terrence guy” in the July 2026 bonus. He is never a speaking guest, so every beat above is the hosts narrating about him; two of the twenty-two — the Shinobi-coding boost in episode 6 and the Mars Spaces clip — are medium-confidence and hedged accordingly.
