Stacking
Stacking is, per the canonical bugle.news definition, the act of “giving up all their personal information to some entity in order to exchange money from their bank account for Bitcoin” (Bitcoiner Who Stacks $25 A Week, January 2023). A single such purchase is a stack.
The stack chain is the celebratory apparatus around it: a peer-pressure campaign in which members of Bitcoin Twitter post public pictures of their weekly purchases — typically $25 on Swan or Strike — often alongside their NOSTR public keys, both to onboard others and to collectively attempt to raise the price of Bitcoin. @BTCHODLVirginia is the documented archetype of the practice.
irl: “Stacking sats” is genuine Bitcoin slang for regular small purchases; the “stacksat chain” quote-tweet trend was real in early 2023. The Bugle’s definition inverts the self-sovereignty branding by centering the KYC handover.
