Sasha Hodder

She is never a guest in the corpus: every beat is a boost read aloud, and the arc is built entirely from what the hosts do with her boosts.

Sasha Hodder is the Bugleverse’s Bitcoin lawyer — a listener and prolific Fountain booster who, over a single winter, was promoted from anonymous supporter to the show’s credentialed ally on the Core–Knots front and installed permanently in the subscriber roll call. Richard Greaser‘s capsule biography names all four of her attributes in one breath: “She she’s a lawyer. She she’s a listener to the show. She’s pretty hot. Enemy of Bitcoin.”1 Every one of those is elaborated below; the last is a joke.

The new fan (2025)

She arrives as a boost. In Episode 81 a supporter the ASR renders “Sasha May” hands the show its own cycle theory — the hard-times/strong-men loop rewritten in Bugle vocabulary: “Part time create pioneers, pioneers create all time highs, All time highs create plug slop. Plug slop creates hard times.”2 Rod Palmer takes it as vindication — “I knew there was something there” — and Greaser notes the pattern: “Sasha’s been all over our stuff recently. We got a new fan,” before welcoming her onto the intellectual silk road.3

Henry’s note: the Episode 81 identification is an inference. The boost is signed only “Sasha May”; it is read as Sasha Hodder because the same episode’s subscriber roll names “Sasha Hodder” outright and Greaser flags a new recurring fan named Sasha. Confidence is medium and it is the first appearance, not a certain one.

The CSAM-on-nodes debunking

Her defining storyline is legal. In The Slop Tsunami the show recounts that her video debunking the panic over child-abuse material on Bitcoin nodes went to 100,000 engagements after the Bugle retweeted it — the reassurance being that running a node will not get you raided: “how you’re not gonna get healed. The SWAT team’s not gonna bust in your house.”4 The reward for the analysis was a mob: Rod reports that plebs called her law firm to accuse her of being a CSAM supporter, and names Stephan Livera and Bitcoin Mechanic among those arguing with her.5

The house response the following week is the show’s clearest statement of its no-win doctrine. In Happy Thanksgiving a boost — read as hers — describes deleting the video and feeling “a big sense of peace the moment that I did. Life is too short to fight with the Nazis.”6 Rod endorses the retreat: there is “no chance” of winning, so if the fight is upsetting her, she should consider a different way of spending her time.7

Pioneer, not pleb

The mobbing triggers a formal status ruling, delivered on air in the Bugleverse’s load-bearing vocabulary. Greaser clarifies that Sasha is not a pleb; Rod overrules even that and upgrades her outright: “No. Sasha’s a pioneer.”8 The credential is what earns it — Greaser contrasts her with the developers on the other side of the node fight, who “are not lawyers.”8

The ruling is load-bearing enough that it is re-invoked as a contrast. When MsHodlNaut420 resurfaces in The Truth Has Consequences to call Rod “still being a salty bitch,” Rod sorts the two women against each other — “Sasha’s a pioneer. Miss Hoddlenot is a trunk and pleb” — pioneer on one side, drunken pleb on the other.9

Enemy of Bitcoin

The “enemy of Bitcoin” tag from Greaser’s capsule is cashed out in Enemies Of Bitcoin, where the guest Muck is asked to justify it and gives the reason in full: “first of all, she’s a woman, and that makes me skeptical,” compounded by a name that sounds Russian.10 The bit’s whole point is that the label is arbitrary — the same guest is later shown taking her boost anyway.

Sunset Circuit

She has her own show, and the two podcasts cross over. In Episode 90 her boost books it: “Looking forward to the Sunset Circuit Bugle Bitcoin Law Review. For anyone listening, please send us your hardest legal questions.”11 The crossover is delivered in 2026 Starts With A Bang, where Greaser reports that “Rod and I just did an episode with Sasha” — recorded in an odd format, Rod starting the interview and Greaser arriving late to end it.12 By Episode 115 the relationship is a paid one: a 9,999-sat boost buys her Sunset Circuit a live splice into the episode — “she’s got an audio ad. I’m gonna splice it in the episode right now” — a boost converting directly into an ad read for a Bitcoin fitness race.13

The boost economy

Most of her appearances are boosts that the hosts turn into bits, which is the arc in miniature: she is a running input the show reliably converts into content.

  • In Episode 95 her question about where to hold the Vegas Bitcoin race launches the cigarette bit — Greaser asks “how many cigarettes do you think I can smoke in 400 meter run?” and Rod bids four, “One for 100 meters.”14
  • In Is Trump Taking Ibogaine her boost spelling hodlnaught with the -naught ending is adopted on air as the credentialed spelling, Rod noting that a journalist’s job “is to do things, the credentialed way.”15 A separate boost the same episode turns into a public-service warning to bring a raincoat to a Gwar concert.16
  • In Episode 109 a 5,080-sat boost offers origin lore and immediately undercuts it: she met Jeff Booth in 2012 — “He was my old boss’s brother-in-law” — and has never met him since or finished his podcast.17
  • In Intellectual Silk Road 4 her boost opens the Shinobi-versus-Trailer-Park-Boys bit — “Shinobi would win against the bottle kits” (bottle kids).18

The fixture

By 2026 she is a permanent name in the sign-off. She appears in the subscriber roll call in Episode 106,19 again in Kayfabians,20 and in Pleb Slop Intervention, where Greaser notes her as busy with “her own social circuit thing.”21

Note on the name

The ASR never signs her boosts as “Sasha Hodder.” She arrives as Sasha May, is read as Sasha Otter, is called Sasha Hodler in the bundle’s speaker map, and shows up under handles like “Sasha 500¢.” The surname resolves reliably only in the spoken subscriber rolls; every boost-driven beat above was attributed from context — the legal-analysis content, the recurring-fan flag, the crossover. The aliases: exist so the next pass keeps her.
