Hear the ad read — from From Grumpy To Gleeful With Matt Odell | BTP Episode 23
Hey, folks. This is Buster Cherry. I just wanted to let you know about a new Bitcoin podcast that is launching. Are you tired of listening to podcasts done by suits? Do you wanna hear content that affirms you doing nothing and makes you feel good about it? Do you wanna be told that you can change the world by buying $100 hardware wallets using bitcoin only k y c exchanges running knots on a start nine server, as well as buying whatever the recent gadget is? Do you wanna hear macro gibberish that doesn’t even make sense but confirms you are right? Well, Plebs Slop is the podcast for you by Plebs for Plebs. This podcast will complain about people doing things while making you feel good while you sit on your couch smoking weed and shit posting about David Bailey on Twitter. The co hosts Citizen Pleb and Toxic Plebnaute will entertain you. This podcast can only be found on Fiat podcasting one point zero platforms because the hosts don’t believe you should ever spend your bitcoin. Find the hosts on Twitter, not Noster because the UX is too hard. Now sit back, light a cigarette, and enjoy the show.
Heard On
The house style Plebs Slop parodies
Buster Cherry‘s read is not inventing a genre so much as narrating the one the Bugle accounts already run on autopilot. The house feed announces a “New Bitcoin Podcast” on a near-weekly cadence, always to the same template — a klaxon emoji, a title that is its own punchline, a plea to boost sats. Read enough of them in a row and the Plebs Slop pitch stops sounding like satire and starts sounding like a mission statement.
The titles do the work the ad describes — “content that affirms you doing nothing” and “macro gibberish that doesn’t even make sense”:
New Bitcoin Podcast Satoshi Is Jewish — @bitcoin_bugle, 2024-12-12
Smoking Cigarettes To Prevent Climate Change — @bitcoin_bugle, 2024-12-19
Female Influencers, The Apex Predator — @bitcoin_bugle, 2025-01-16
Fix The World: One Bitcoin Podcast At A Time — @bitcoin_bugle, 2025-02-20
The ad’s promise that Plebs Slop will “complain about people doing things” is, in the source material, indistinguishable from the actual release schedule. Henry files these under the same drawer as the pleb-slop meme — same disease, different symptom — while keeping this page on the ad itself.

#40HPW and the couch mandate
The recurring hashtag on these bulletins is #40HPW — forty hours per week, the listening quota of the Full Time Podcast Listeners (a.k.a. the Forty Hour Club). The ad’s core offer — a show for the pleb who wants “to sit on your couch smoking weed and shit posting about David Bailey on Twitter” — is the same labor arrangement the hashtag ratifies. Even the terse posts carry the quota:
New Bitcoin Podcast #40HPW — @bitcoin_bugle, 2025-04-07
The David Bailey name-check in the read is not a stray gag; it is the designated target of the couch shift.
irl: #40HPW (“40 hours per week”) is a real running Bitcoin-podcast-Twitter tag for the value-for-value listening habit; the Bugle accounts adopt it straight.
Fiat podcasting 1.0 vs. the sats boost
The read’s sharpest joke is that Plebs Slop “can only be found on Fiat podcasting 1.0 platforms because the hosts don’t believe you should ever spend your bitcoin.” The house feed itself does the opposite in every post — routing listeners to @fountain_app and asking them to boost:
Listen & boost us sats⚡️ — @bitcoin_bugle, 2024-12-30
So the ad’s fictional hosts — Citizen Pleb and Toxic Plebnaute — are defined by the one thing the real accounts won’t do: refuse the boost. It is the cleanest expression of the never-sell-never-spend posture the Pleb Slop Wars chronicles, played for an ad break.
The listener’s-eye view
@rodpalmerhodl supplies the demand side of the same joke — the pleb on the receiving end of the firehose. The most-boosted artifact in the file is his straight-faced pitch, which needs no product to land:
Idea for a new Bitcoin podcast 🧠 Hear me out… — @rodpalmerhodl, 2025-06-26

And the fatigue that the endless “New Bitcoin Podcast” bulletin eventually produces:
what my phone sees when i get a notification for a new bitcoin podcast episode — @rodpalmerhodl, 2025-08-14

New Bitcoin podcast has legs 👀 — @rodpalmerhodl, 2025-04-26
Others treat the format as pure ritual — the announcement stripped of any content at all:
🚨🚨🚨 NEW BITCOIN PODCAST ALERT 🚨🚨🚨 — @_podconf, 2025-06-10
New Bitcoin Podcast! Lyn Alden is Hot! — @GreaserRichard, 2025-09-08
Taken together the file confirms the read’s thesis without needing the read: the “new Bitcoin podcast” is not an event, it is a weather condition. Plebs Slop merely gave it a name, two hosts, and a cigarette.
