Elizabeth Warren

Elizabeth Warren is a United States Senator and the Bugleverse’s premier regulatory antagonist. Her crypto policy apparatus, per bugle.news reporting, consists of one 19-year-old nephew with a $250 Dogecoin loss.

Arc history

Warren’s canon opens in January 2023 with the revelation that her top crypto advisor is her nephew Phil, hired after he lost $250 trading Dogecoin on Robinhood and concluded that crypto was “a scam and backed by nothing.” In a CNN interview she defended the appointment, citing firsthand knowledge of “the devastation that crypto has caused to young people,” asserting that crypto “is backed by nothing, and is only used by criminals,” and explaining that she needed “someone who is young and in touch with young people and can understand this blockchain stuff” (Elizabeth Warren’s Top Crypto Advisor Revealed).

Beyond the founding nephew story, the Bugle‘s X account has kept Warren in near-continuous rotation as its house regulator — a running “BREAKING/JUST IN” beat in which every escalation of real-world crypto policy is reported as another stage of her personal unraveling. The recurring gag is not that she opposes Bitcoin but that she is losing, visibly and loudly, in real time.

The anti-everything army

Warren’s signature move, per the wire, is declaring war on progressively smaller targets. Having been introduced building an anti-crypto army, she graduates to a campaign against Nostr’s purple-clad plebs:

The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and Dennis Porter

Warren’s chief in-universe nemesis on the policy front is Dennis Porter, cast as the man standing between her and the defeat of the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. The Bugle covers this as a besieged-staffer exposé:

The Porter-versus-Warren framing predates the Reserve. As early as December 2023 the account was openly hoping for a rescue — “Okay did @Dennis_Porter_ save us from Elizabeth Warren yet?”³ — which retroactively sets up Porter as the designated Warren-slayer.

Paper Bitcoin Summer

By mid-2025 the Bugle promotes Warren from crypto-skeptic to conspiracy investigator, demanding that Bitcoin podcasters account for the “Paper Bitcoin Summer”:

Derangement, breakdowns, and villain rankings

The through-line across every dispatch is deteriorating composure — a condition the account eventually names outright as “Bitcoin Derangement Syndrome.” Its clinical peak comes at a Senate confirmation hearing:

The escalation runs both ways. The Bugle floats her own prosecution — “DOJ Launches Formal Investigation Into Elizabeth Warren, Citing Her Stance on Bitcoin As Suspicious”⁴ — and openly editorializes about her electability: “Okay so who keeps electing Elizabeth Warren?”⁵ Her adversarial standing is durable enough to serve as a benchmark for other villains; when Teddy Bitcoins ascends, the measure of his ascent is the company he displaces:

When the Bugle addresses Warren directly, the register drops from breaking-news to heckling. A June 2025 reply asks her to reprioritize:
