Peter Schiff

In the Bugleverse, Peter Schiff is less a person than a fixed point: the house perma-bear against whom every price is measured. The accounts return to him the way a comedian returns to a reliable heckler — not for anything he does, but for the shape of the bit. He is the man who is always wrong, always still talking, and (the running suspicion) always secretly long.

The load-bearing joke is Schiff’s gold maximalism, played straight until it collapses. When AWS took down half the internet, the Bugle found the silver lining for him:
