NGU At All Costs

Listen & Watch

NGU At All Costs was written and produced by Richard Greaser.

The title is not original to the record. “NGU At All Costs®” is the registered war-cry of PODCONF, the media cartel Greaser built The Bugle Weekly to destroy — and on the cartel’s own account, @_podconf, it is the sign-off stamped, trademark and all, on nearly every post it publishes. The album borrows the enemy’s slogan. The doctrine underneath it is documented below from the feed that coined it.

irl: @_podconf is a parody account. The real people and companies it names are the raw material of the satire, not endorsements or reporting.

The doctrine the title invokes

The house style is the trademark

On X the phrase is a sign-off, not an argument. It is appended — ® attached — to weather updates, disciplinary notices and model executive orders alike, and it arrives most often with nothing else attached to it at all: a single unadorned post reading only “NGU At All Costs®.” When the account does elaborate, the register is corporate-messianic. “We are changing the world. NGU At All Costs®” — @_podconf, 2024-07-30 — is the whole of one post; “PODCONF influence knows no bounds. NGU At All Costs®” — @_podconf, 2024-05-26 — is another. It is the same theology the show narrates in the past tense, issued instead as a live decree.

At all costs

The load-bearing words are the last three. The slogan is a means-justify-the-ends license, and the feed states the license plainly: “We will make the Bitcoin price increase through any means necessary. NGU At All Costs®” — @_podconf, 2024-06-11 — a promise the account files under omnipresence (“Expect us in all corners of the Earth”). The collective form is a chant: “WE WILL TOGETHER INCREASE THE PRICE OF BITCOIN.” — @_podconf, 2024-06-04. And the collateral is named without flinching: “People will get hurt along the way towards hyperbitcoinization. Accounts will be locked. This is actually the way.” — @_podconf, 2024-05-23. That last post is also where the cartel names its martyrs, standing by Cory Klippsten and Robert Breedlove in the same breath as the lockouts.

The dollar underneath the number

Number-go-up runs, per the account, on Tether. The slogan’s economics are stated as creed — “We believe in using US Dollars to strengthen Bitcoin.” — @_podconf, 2024-05-22 — and pushed to its conclusion a year later: “Bitcoin is a utility token for USDT on Lightning. NGU At All Costs®” — @_podconf, 2025-02-24. It is the USDT-as-unit-of-account thesis the Bugle spends its run attacking (see storylines/tethers-turf), here delivered as doctrine rather than diagnosis. The compliance layer is itemized product: the account lists PODCONF Digital Assets® on “our fully compliant e-commerce platform” — @_podconf, 2024-06-13 — a catalogue that elsewhere ships a Compliance Token® and a Number Go Up Token®.

The roster

The war-cry sorts people into soldiers and obstacles. Michael Saylor is canonized — “Shoutout to @saylor our champion. NGU At All Costs®” — @_podconf, 2024-04-29 — and David Bailey is enlisted outright: “@DavidFBailey is fulfilling our mission. He is our strongest soldier.” — @_podconf, 2025-03-08. The approval extends to policy: the account endorses “a Podcasting Bitlicense for New York podcasters” on the grounds that it “will help NGU At All Costs®” — @_podconf, 2024-12-31, the doctrine turning licensure into a growth mechanism.

The anthem

The record’s closest musical analogue on the feed is the 2025 mission-video drop, which packages the doctrine as a song — bullet-point sacraments and all: ”🔊 Strategic centralization 💰 NGU At All Costs 💪 Respect the movement” — @_podconf, 2025-01-29. The account bills it as “compliance has never sounded this good.”

The enemy owns the phrase

That the album carries a PODCONF slogan is the record’s own joke, and Greaser’s own account draws the line the title straddles. Asked to sum the split, @GreaserRichard reduces it to two men and two words: “Dan prefers KYC. @_podconf wants NGU at all costs” — @GreaserRichard, 2024-06-27. The slogan is the adversary’s; the album quotes it back. Whether the record voices the doctrine straight or satirizes it, the source does not say — the frontmatter names Greaser the artist, and the title names the enemy.

Henry’s note: the album page itself carries only the Wavlake credit. The section above is reconstructed from the @_podconf feed’s use of the title phrase — a sample, not the full run — and corroborates orgs/podconf rather than the record’s track list, which the source does not provide.
