Transcript: PODCONF Superbowl Aftermath | Bugle Weekly Episode 62
0:04Kailey Welch Welcome back to this edition of the Bugle weekly headlines. This past week was dominated by the PodCon Super Bowl. Influencers from all over the world gathered in Las Vegas to discuss compliance, NGU, Bitcoin treasury companies, and stablecoins.
0:17Buster Cherry Bugle weekly PodCon correspondent, Buster Cherry, joins me with those headlines and more. Thanks, Kaylee. Happy Monday and good morning. The PodConf Super Bowl was indeed a spectacle to witness as all the biggest names in Bitcoin descended on Las Vegas. While walking around the conference surveying many of the attendees, many women expressed their discomfort due to a large number of men walking around with erections due to Dennis Porter being present at the event. I personally had to awkwardly hide my erection as Dennis had just walked by moments before. The conference was dominated by many strange stunts. Justin Sun gave Ross a banana, a just stop ordinals protester was arrested before being able to throw tomato soup on the ordinals section, and many people posed with the infamous Greenpeace skull sculpture for pictures. Much of the controversy around the event did not come from people at the event though, and instead from many people like Matthew Crater and Plutator on Twitter. I'm glad I didn't get to attend Buster. I sure would have been upset to have seen men walking around with erections because of Dennis Porter instead of me. Orange cells sure behave strangely when it comes to sex. Did you see any strange sexual behavior at the event?
1:21Buster Cherry Yes, Kaylee. Unfortunately, I did. While talking to event security, they expressed concern that participants would act inappropriately during Lynn Alden's keynote due to her being hot. Fortunately, nothing out of the ordinary happened besides a couple of lackluster Lynn Alden is hot chants. One attendee was seen carried out of the main stage area though as he was caught masturbating during Michael Saylor's speaking slot. If there's one thing that's certain at these events, nothing seems to get these middle aged men hornier than a gay fed talking on stage. Generally, though, the participants seemed to be well behaved at the conference.
1:55Kailey Welch Outside of it, though, was a completely different story. I'm sure the intelligence agencies got a lot of compromising evidence on many Bitcoiners outside of the conference. We'll leave that one alone for now, though. Thanks for your reporting, buster. Before we go, here's some final headlines for the week. Maggie Morris and Ginger b Stiffen's flight was delayed leaving Vegas after Elizabeth Warren let out a bolos of hot air grounding flights leaving the city. Brad Garlinghouse was confused to learn this week that money cannot always buy politicians. The bugle had their first live event called Satterize the System, which was a smashing success. And Eric Cason delivered a noncompliant rant at the conference, which David Bailey is citing as the reason why the price of Bitcoin has dropped despite all the bullish announcements at the conference. My name is Kaylee Welch. And my name is Buster Cherry. Thank you for listening to this week's Bugle news headlines.
2:47Richard Greaser Welcome to this edition of People Weekly. This is Richard Greaser. I have not yet recovered from the PodCon Super Bowl. It was a long weekend. Las Vegas. Las Vegas is very wild place.
3:04Richard Greaser Jack Cruz won't even set foot in it because of all the EMFs, so I think that's part of it. I I happen to smoke more cigarettes than normal out there, believe it or not. And it was a good time. It was a good time. I spoke of cigarettes with, a bunch of people. I spoke cigarettes with
3:24Richard Greaser just about everybody I came in contact with. A lot of people wanted to smoke cigarettes, with me just for the sake of doing it. And I I think we're making progress. The the the Bitcoin community is learning the importance of for HPW, learning the importance of cigarettes. We were there holding it down. How are you feeling, Rod?
3:46Richard Greaser You recovered yet? I'm
3:49Rod Palmer slowly recovering. But, yeah, looking back on Vegas, had a great time. It was a great meeting. So many, members of the intellectual Silk Road and listeners
3:60Unknown to the bugle.
4:02Rod Palmer There was a lot of people who I was hoping to meet out there who I didn't get a chance to meet and talk to. So if that was if that was one of you, we'll make sure we cross paths next time. But I also learned a lot, and I learned the Vegas while being a very degenerate place. And, you know, there's a lot of criticisms I've heard people or read people, their take about Vegas, and it's hard to disagree with them. But Vegas is the essence of being, whether you are, you know, just of human existence, at least from American perspective.
4:37Rod Palmer It was nice to be there and to smoke inside and smoke inside with boomers who were gambling away their social security checks. And that is basically what life in America has really boiled down to for a lot of people. Just smoking cigarettes and gamble and weigh your future. Gamble and weigh your Social Security checks. And I think that
5:00Rod Palmer like Las Vegas, people went to Bitcoin twenty twenty five and they realized that we can do better. We can be better people. We can be more healthy. We can do better than gamble in a way our social security and, just living for that lifestyle. And we can also do better as Bitcoiners and have a better conference. It was
5:22Rod Palmer mostly about paper Bitcoin. It was mostly about, you know, shit coinery. It was just, you know, it could have been better. We there was nothing wrong with it. It wasn't it shouldn't be illegal, but we can do better and we should strive to do better. And it really pains me to say this, but the one thing I did in Vegas that I thought had a much more optimistic
5:48Rod Palmer and much more, you know, just they at least had some standards of what it meant to be a Bitcoiner and that was the spamming Vegas event. You know, they didn't talk about paper Bitcoin. They didn't worship the government at spamming Vegas. They they built with Bitcoin. They spent Bitcoin. And it would have been nice if the Bitcoin conference just had a little bit more
6:10Rod Palmer it would just be nice if the Bitcoin conference had as much integrity as inscribing Vegas. And I think that that's not asking too much. I wonder,
6:21Richard Greaser do you think that they put the conference in Vegas just for the sake of, failing all the purity tests? Like, just being in that city, period, means that you've already failed
6:35Rod Palmer all of the purity tests. Yeah. It's Sin city. And we are all we are all sinners in the eyes of the Lord, and we are all shitcoiners, in the eyes of Satoshi. And being in Vegas really just drove home that point. If you were if you were excited to go to Las Vegas for the Bitcoin conference, you were already
6:58Rod Palmer a failure of purity tests. The only people who could actually pass purity tests, they stay at home, they take no part in Vegas, and they just criticize it from the sidelines, and they never ever make anything, sell anything, produce anything, or build anything
7:17Rod Palmer for the network, for the the community, for the industry, because they know that they would fail the purity test. And so they are so pure that they refuse to participate, they refuse to spend, they refuse to build, and they refuse to just be at all participants in this industry or this, community. That makes sense. Yeah. Because if if you if you spend Bitcoin, you fail
7:45Rod Palmer sailors' purity test. Easiest one to easiest one easiest one to to not fail is sailors' purity test,
7:55Richard Greaser and some people still do it. It's an interesting strategy. Yeah. If you don't if you don't have any skin in the game, there's no way to,
8:03Rod Palmer to fail the purity test at all. Yeah. I mean, if you come into Bitcoin the right way and you DCA through Swan Bitcoin, they don't have a sell button, you withdraw into cold storage,
8:15Rod Palmer You've never learned how to sell. You've never learned how to spend your Bitcoin. You're just buying it, having zero temptation to sell and pulling it straight into your cold card or your hardware wallet. You don't even you don't even consolidate your UTXOs because that is still a risk of failing a purity test if you spend your Bitcoin to consolidate your UTXOs. If you don't do it right, you fail the purity test right there. So it's so easy. It's just so easy for to diligently just get just buy a savings plan through a company like Swan and never sell your Bitcoin. Yet so many people continue
8:49Richard Greaser to fail and they continue to get cocky. Very interesting. Well, yeah. I mean, the the Podkom Super Bowl last year Did you fail any purity tests in Vegas? What's that?
8:59Rod Palmer Did you fail any purity tests during this trip in Vegas?
9:03Richard Greaser I know I sure did, but I, you know, I don't wanna dox your your purity test failures if you did. Well, I think I think going to the conference just period is a failure of the purity test. So for that, we went to inscribe in Vegas. That was a failure in purity test. We didn't we didn't spit in Peter Schiff's face. Trace Mayer spoke at her event. That was a failing of a purity test.
9:29Rod Palmer Caitlin Long was also a failure of a purity test.
9:32Richard Greaser Why was that? I've never heard that. Because she because she's, trying to open a stablecoin bank. Well, I didn't realize that doing stuff with stablecoins is against the purity test. It it seems like most of these guys issuing the purity test are pretty big fans of the stablecoins. That's surprising.
9:50Rod Palmer There there's definitely a a schism, an autism schism, about stablecoins in the in the purity test, space. But you're right. A lot of people do not consider that, especially especially if you use Tether on Tron. Especially if you worked with, Peter Thiel in the past,
10:08Richard Greaser you're probably gonna like Stablecoins. You're gonna like Stablecoins,
10:11Rod Palmer KYC, any sort of data collection, mechanism that makes it easier for the deep state to to collect information on people.
10:21Richard Greaser Mhmm. Using credit cards on your website for your Bitcoin course?
10:25Rod Palmer Yeah. Yeah.
10:27Richard Greaser Stuff like that. I mean, that that's gonna be an interesting one to watch is is when the, the, Bitcoin course offers started accepting stable coins. Yeah. Vegas was interesting. I I had a pretty good time. I had a good time hanging out, with the Beagle writers. Good time hanging out with you. Good time hanging out with Maggie Morris. Good time hang hanging out with Ginger b Stiffen.
10:51Rod Palmer Oh, hey. Ginger b Stiffen is hot, by the way. I think everybody saw Ginger b Stiffen this weekend. Maybe they didn't know it was her, but they knew that they saw pretty hot chick with a pretty hot ass. I mean, with all due respect to Ginger.
11:05Richard Greaser Yeah. Yeah. I think you're being strictly professional, on that one, or I hope so. You you can comment on, your coworker's ass and and be strictly professional, but you have to do it in kind of a classy classy way. You know what I mean? Ginger works on that ass, hard every day at the gym. You can tell. It's, proof of work.
11:27Rod Palmer It's never it's never wrong to acknowledge proof of work.
11:31Richard Greaser You can see it in her writing when you're reading her articles. You're like, wow. Yeah. Ginger works on that app.
11:40Rod Palmer It was great to meet Maggie. Maggie Morris, crypto crypto Epstein. She was great. She tagged along with us, all over Vegas. She was, I mean, she was calling out fads. She was telling she was calling people out on their bullshit. She was calling people out on their, their style and attire.
12:00Rod Palmer You may have heard her scream embrace the game theory multiple times throughout the conference. She got Dennis Porter's attention. She definitely you know, I I thought Dennis Porter was a pretty progressive, you know, type of guy, but he did not seem to like
12:18Rod Palmer Maggie Morris when she was being too loud during the Bitcoin podcast segment of his interview. But I don't know. It was a great time to be with everybody. We saw a lot more. Who else did we hang out with? Fundamentals, Ghost of Shadrach. Shadrach, I mean, OG,
12:35Rod Palmer Bitcoin bugle, non KYC cigarette smoker. Definitely, like, enjoyed hanging out with Shad.
12:43Richard Greaser Hung out with a lot of people. Hung out with all the people that showed up to her event. Hung out with a lot of, you know, Beagle fans, and that that was a good time. And,
12:52Rod Palmer great to see Evan Kalupis. He's, really enjoyed hanging out with Evan. Adam Adam Samecca was dressed I mean, he was dressed immaculately. Orange tie, the the blue blocker glasses.
13:07Rod Palmer I mean, this guy could not be more of a consummate professional. And man, let me tell you, he has, he's he's working on he's he's collaborating big time with Steak and Shake. I mean, Adam is and he expressed this to us in person. He's really working hard to make Maxi Madness next year, he wants to be PodCon approved and I'm telling you if anybody
13:31Rod Palmer is right in the blueprint for how to go from Midwest well, you know, little small Midwest meetup party type guy to a Maxi Madness Podkoff participant top, you know, top 16 seed. It's Adam Semeka. Absolutely just crushing it right now. You know, good to see Tatum. It was great to see Tatum Tatum. And I I heard
13:55Rod Palmer rumors that Tatum recorded a another episode of his podcast. So he's back on the podcast train after we had just talked to him last week. And his first guest, American fucking Huddl. This guy this guy gets the top
14:11Richard Greaser podcast interviews in his sleep. See, that was probably a mistake on his part to have Huddl as his first guest. You know, one of the things we were coaching him on is how, you know, having somebody on your podcast can be like a first date. And when we were talking to him, it sounded like he was interested in, finding a girlfriend. But based on that, it didn't really seem like it. I know Crypto Mags really wanted to go on his podcast. She's pretty hot. And, Yeah. I I actually ran into,
14:43Rod Palmer Tatum and Crypto Mags walking together out of the Venetian on Thursday, you know, through those one of those long hallways and gave those guys a high five. Yeah. Crypto Mags was hot, and let me tell you, she looked great walking next to Tatum. Tatum's like she was so tall. He's he's so handsome with his with his, his bulletproof vest. Man, just crushing it. Absolutely.
15:09Richard Greaser One of the notable people that we didn't see was, Green Candle. Do you notice that? We didn't ever see him.
15:17Rod Palmer That's true. And one of his buddies from Tampa, a guy with a really, really beautiful mullet, or Tampa, Bitcoin meetup, Jersey, everywhere I saw him. He, he said that that green Brandon from Green Candle, probably should have participated in the midget wrestling. He would have been a really fierce competitor in that, in that ring. So I don't know what that was supposed to mean, but,
15:43Rod Palmer yeah, man. Wish we could have met you and hung out with you, Brandon. I saw that you hung out with TJ Miller, though, so that was a pretty dope interview. Interesting.
15:52Richard Greaser Yeah. I think our event went pretty well. I was happy with it. I was happy with all the the people that showed up, and, it was great to, just meet with a lot of people in person. And a lot of these people we've been com communicating online with for a while, getting the chance to there there's something special about smoking cigarettes
16:14Richard Greaser with people in the flesh.
16:17Rod Palmer It's, Shambles. Shambles. Got to meet Shambles. He's as autistic as I ever imagined as well. Yeah.
16:24Richard Greaser Tell me about Shambles. What's his deal?
16:27Rod Palmer Shambles, I think he knows, fundamentals of some of those guys through PubKey. And, Shambles has been he's been a fan of ours,
16:39Rod Palmer of the podcast for a while now. And I heard I heard that he was in the stands. I think they I think they brought him on in the stage for it was either trivia or to get beat up by one of the midget wrestlers, like, or be beat over the head with, like, a trash can. But I I didn't I wasn't sure which one was shambles, but then I met him on the way out. And
17:02Rod Palmer he said he just said, Hey. It was just, like, kind of like the same interaction I had with a lot of guys for these. Just, like, Hey, I'm so and so from Twitter or so and so from Noster. And it's, like, Oh, it's great to put a name to a face, and see and see those guys. So it was cool. We got we also saw Ben Jusman. Ben Jusman was, you know, when he walks in, it's like a celebrity, especially when he walks in with, Skyler with the cool Bitcoin American flag hats. Those guys look like they're it looks like they're, like, part of Barstool and they're coming in to, like, throw the party.
17:33Richard Greaser Mhmm. Yeah. It was cool seeing Ben. Yeah. I was pretty impressed with, Maggie's commitment to journalism throughout the week. I was impressed with your commitment to journalism throughout the week. We were all running around without any sleep. We were all tired. We were all, just running off coffee and and cigarettes, the whole time.
17:55Richard Greaser The thing about that people have to understand is about these events is you're at this you're at PodCon Super Bowl. There's a lot going on at PodCon Super Bowl. There's not a lot of time. It only happens once a year. So you gotta really try to to get as much in. You're not gonna have the opportunity to get all of Bitcoin's biggest influencers in one place at one time, I think at any other event throughout the year.
18:27Richard Greaser And, so you just gotta you just gotta go, go, go the whole time. There's there's no time for rest. There's no time to not have a cigarette in your mouth. And
18:41Richard Greaser I think we accomplished a lot. We accomplished quite a bit. But there was there's been a lot of controversy. It's it's been interesting to to look at the controversy on Twitter. I know we talked about it a little bit earlier about these these individuals that, you know, keep themselves pure by not participating. What are your thoughts on the on the controversy?
19:02Rod Palmer I I'm surprised by it, personally. Not surprised. I'm certainly not surprised. Every year, you've got the, you know, the the critics who they refuse to go. Like, it was a this year was a really easy, easy one to stay away from and easy one to be a critic of. You could just say, like you said, like, doc doctor Jack Crews and some of these others, they're like, Vegas is the most Fiat city. Vegas is the most degenerate city. I would never go to such a place.
19:31Rod Palmer The electromagnetic protection, is terrible. In a city like Vegas, it could burn your thyroid out and make you more susceptible to a tallow gut. You know, there's all sorts, you know, there's all sorts of temptations. And I think and listen. This is maybe a little bit of a hot take, but I'm gonna wind this back a little bit. I I said at the beginning that I learned a lot of things while I was in Vegas. One of the things I learned really had nothing to do with Vegas until I thought about it a little more deeply, but I I I was looking through the timeline on Friday,
20:02Rod Palmer and all the controversy was about Glenn Greenwald. And so I I looked up what the controversy was about, and I found out there was a video that somebody had released about Glenn Greenwald, and he had actually retweeted himself and then explained later. But it was this video, Glenn Greenwald is he's mostly naked except for a a schoolgirl skirt and a little, like, bib with a Palestinian flag on it. And he's on his knees.
20:30Rod Palmer And for the it looks like he's with, perhaps, like, a a Brazilian sex worker, and there's drugs involved. And he's worshiping this giant black man this giant black foot. He's just worshiping it and smooching it and and kissing the toes. And then he bends over and he he he gets fucked in the ass by this, large Brazilian man.
20:52Rod Palmer And I so I learned that Glenn Glenn Greenwald was gay by watching that video. And I watched it a few other times and I studied it, and I realized that this video was not wasn't as wasn't the gayest thing I've ever seen. Like, Pleditor and Matthew Crater and these other critics, they are gayer than Glenn Greenwald.
21:15Rod Palmer And I think that there's a lot of, like, these purity test enforcers. And if you if you really look into them and you listen to their voice on their video podcasts about Bitcoin or you just follow their their content, you can tell that, at least from my perspective, there's they just seem like latent homosexuals. They sound like they're gay. They just have these really weird quirks and they're obsessed with purity, like like, these closeted these closeted gay feds. And
21:46Rod Palmer whether or not they're really working for the federal government, they just seem like gay feds and they seem like they don't wanna go to Vegas, so there's too much temptation. They don't wanna be outed. They don't want to get caught having sex with other gay feds. And it's just too much of a temptation for them. So they it's it's smarter for them to sit back and and and be critical from the outside looking in. But that cattiness, that really that that signature
22:13Rod Palmer gay, symbol that cattiness that they have really comes out when they're jealous. They wanna be there having butt sex with other gay feds, but they can't because it's too dangerous. There's too much surveillance. There's just too much of a chance they would get caught in a situation like that, like Glenn Greenwald did. And so they stay away. So I think that I think it's just
22:35Rod Palmer gay men get very, very jealous and very catty. And I think that's what we're seeing. It's like a a latent homosexuality of these gay feds who it's almost like to have this fiat
22:49Rod Palmer shit coin conference is, like, the trade off to repel all the gay feds who would normally encircle and ensnare the Bitcoin conference. They ran free and wild in Miami. It was a little bit different in Nashville because they had to blend in with the Cowboys, but in Vegas, it was just it was almost like a force field repelling them out of there. Why do you think they're afraid to come out as being gay? Is there too much homophobia
23:13Richard Greaser in Bitcoin? Do we need more gay pride in Bitcoin, or or is it just they're intimidated by the, like, the hyper, heterosexual energy that They really David Bailey,
23:30Richard Greaser put off?
23:31Rod Palmer I think it's a combination. I think some of them really exploit the traditional conservative family values that a lot of Bitcoiners like Adam Samecca, he's like, I will come to Vegas, but I will not bring my family here. I don't want my my kids to be exposed to a place like Fremont Street, and I wish it could it would be in a city that I could bring my family to, which is understandable. So I think they don't wanna get outed in that sense. But I think, yeah, I think being it's very easy for them to criticize Sailor from afar. But I think if you put somebody like Matthew Crowder who, you know I mean, he used to work with Peter Thiel at the gay libertarian hedge fund. Like,
24:10Rod Palmer do you think he's the only non gay libertarian at this hedge fund? I don't know. Maybe he was. I have no proof. I'm just speculating. But you put, like, Crowder or Pledeter or somebody in the same room with sailors, the the man they criticize, so Viameli, on Twitter, and I think that that gay energy is just gonna suck them in. It's almost gonna be like a magnet, and it's just gonna be impossible for them not to to come on sexually to such a powerful gay fed that, if they were in there in person with them. David Bailey, same way. I don't think I don't David Bailey doesn't seem gay to me, but he seems like he's very, very, very tolerant to gay advances. Well, I I think David's,
24:49Richard Greaser perspective on gay advances is he'll he'll entertain him as long as it brings NGU. You know what I mean? But, he doesn't come off to me as homosexual at all. He he's one of the more heterosexual people I've ever seen, and I can imagine it's probably intimidating to a lot of these people. Exactly.
25:09Rod Palmer So it's yeah. It's just a very weird energy. I think it's very difficult to maintain the aura of the narrative that you've, created for yourself online in a place like Las Vegas. I think it's easier in Nashville, and I think it's even easier in places like Miami. But I think there's just there's something about Vegas
25:31Richard Greaser that everybody's just you just have to be too cautious there. Yeah. Well, that's all that's some interesting theories. I don't know if I have a ton of strong opinions on it, but those those are definitely some interesting theories. Listener, bear with us. We're I I don't know. I'm pretty tired. I have not recovered, from the event. Do do you know any good ways to deal with EMFs? And how does it detox from them? I have I've told
26:00Rod Palmer people, that, you know, I think it's important to wear, what are those called? Those, like, Faraday they're Faraday jeans. So you wear Faraday jeans and it
26:15Rod Palmer keeps, like, your if you've got a Bitcoin wallet or a GrapheneOS phone in your pocket, it keeps you from being susceptible to, you know, EMF weapons or weaponized EMF energy.
26:29Rod Palmer It also protects your testicles and your balls from that kind of stuff in case people are trying to, just trying to sterilize you and steal your Bitcoin at the same time. A lot of people went down to Vegas. They brought a lot of talo. I mean, talo is a natural EMF protector. It's kinda like sunscreen for your skin and hair but protection from EMF energy. However, it was so hot in Vegas and it was like just such a dry heat that the towel just dripped right down your face and it melted right off you. I mean, somebody said they saw, you know,
27:05Rod Palmer seagulls dipping Steak and Shake fries in, in Tatum's you know, the the towel dripping down Tatum's face when he's walking down Fremont Street one day. So it was tough. It was it's tough to protect yourself out there. Very interesting.
27:20Richard Greaser That that that might explain why so many people look so greasy around the continent.
27:25Rod Palmer Yeah. Exactly. It wasn't just it wasn't just, ordinals, the inscription, event. Like, everybody looked greasy. They had greasy hair, but that was their tallow melting. But I you know, listen, at the end of the day, you if you don't wanna get a sunburn, don't eat a bunch of seed oils and then go walk it in your bathing suit through Saudi Arabia. If you don't want to get, EMF damage, don't go to a place like Las Vegas. Doctor Jack Cruz, he's just like an abstinence first approach here.
27:55Rod Palmer He's already fried his his, you know, his thyroid enough being in the hospital in Central America. Why why risk it further going to Vegas? Yep. Well,
28:07Richard Greaser today is the first day. We're recording June 1, first day of compliance pride month. Big month. Compliance was, a big theme at the conference as it always is. There were a lot of compliance professionals. I actually met the,
28:25Richard Greaser I think that he said he was the head of compliance at Block, came to, satirize the system.
28:33Rod Palmer So he would have known he would have known, Mike Brock that would have worked with him at Block.
28:40Richard Greaser Highly likely.
28:41Rod Palmer Mike Brock was apparently in Vegas at the conference. I we did not have the privilege of of running into him. He was probably he probably people have the whale passes, general passes. I think he had the very sophisticated person pass, so he was probably hanging out with other very sophisticated people. One of the other issues in the controversy I think we before we go to another topic that we should address here, I wanna get your thoughts on this is
29:10Rod Palmer people like Dieter and Pleditor, they were very quick to criticize Ross's speech, Ross Ulbricht. So obviously, this was Ross Ulbricht's first conference that he's been free. They talked about freeing Ross at last year's conference, and this time now he is free. So the you know, it came to
29:29Rod Palmer fruition. It was really nice to see him there, see him talk about freedom. But, you know, people like Dieter and Plutator and others are calling him a shitcoiner and he hasn't even announced a shitcoin. They just they're just saying that he has big shitcoin or energy. And I think that there there must be a conversation to be had around that because it's it's very it's some people are very shocked that somebody would have such a critical opinion about Ross. Yeah. I don't
29:58Richard Greaser I I mean, I I've heard this criticism of him before, and it seems like it's kinda centered around his speech. He he mentioned, something about being interested in all of these cryptocurrency technologies, having not gotten the, I don't think he's gotten the the purity test training yet.
30:20Richard Greaser He missed out on that for the last few years. But I think part of the reason why he's kind of agnostic or or interested in these technologies is because some of the biggest supporters of him, predominantly financially, were the shitcoiners. People like Roger Veer when he was in prison. And it's it's kinda hard, you know, when you're in prison, you know, You're being influenced by the people that are supporting you, trying to get you out. You're kind of in a desperate situation.
30:48Richard Greaser And, you know, there's no narrative on how you shouldn't spend your Bitcoin, being presented in Bitcoin. So you shouldn't spend your Bitcoin on promoting Ross. So, you know, I think if there's any reason why you're still interested in Bitcoin, it's probably because of, you know, David Bailey have been promoting them so much with his, quote, unquote, shitcoin
31:09Richard Greaser conference.
31:10Rod Palmer Right. People some people are surprised, and I think this I think this may sum up some of the controversy as well. It's the people who are on the front lines of the battle against the state and separating money from state and actually fighting that battle instead of just LARPing about it online, when one of those people get gets hurt or gets, you know, pinched by the state, they end up in jail, they end up getting caught,
31:40Rod Palmer They when they when they are eventually freed, they're going to remember the people who fought the hardest, the people who were standing next to them fighting the state and trying to separate money from state, and the people who fought next to them and didn't leave them behind when the state, was able to, you know, ensnare them or or encircle them and take away their freedom. And people get surprised when people that fought these hard battles together and stuck together and didn't leave each other behind when they when they have each other's backs in controversial moments. And they wonder why they don't
32:17Rod Palmer instead abandon the people who fought with them and fought for them to choose their, you know, their purity test group group chat on Twitter. You know? And I think it's I think it's fairly obvious that the people who are actually in the arena fighting and battling the state are gonna always stick together even if they fail each other's purity tests because you don't have time for pure you if you're really battling the state and you're and you're not just a LARP, you don't have time for purity tests.
32:44Rod Palmer And just having a purity test means you're probably not actually doing anything of any impact of doing anything meaningful to advance your cause and fight the state at all. Yeah. It's just it's kind of like an interesting
32:58Richard Greaser thing where, you know, if if you're in the profession of trying to persuade people, which I I'm personally not, but it like, I think a lot of these guys, they they they care about public perception. That's why they're arguing so hard on Twitter, and are always being Karens in people's responses.
33:19Richard Greaser But, you know, if you care about public perception, it's it's hard to win people over to your side when you're yelling at them for not being pure enough.
33:30Rod Palmer And it kinda makes it a little more way. There's no purity test in foxholes, and nobody wants to nobody wants to try to live up to the purity test standards of people who
33:48Rod Palmer don't have their back, people who will never support support you know, if things go wrong, these people will never support you. They will abandon you and isolate you and attack you at the earliest convenience. You don't want to fight the state with people like Pleditor and Matthew Crowder because they, a, aren't fighting the state, and, b,
34:12Rod Palmer they would they would throw you under the bus to the state in a heartbeat to marginally benefit themselves and make sure that their follower count on x or whatever platform goes up and charge you money for it, these people will never ever help you with anything. They will only
34:33Rod Palmer serve to, make you, like, the exit liquidity to increase their reputation the moment they have the chance. Mhmm. That's why they're spooks. That's what spooks do. They may not be on the payroll of the CIA or the FBI, but the outcome of interacting with them or doing anything invested with them,
34:55Rod Palmer time or energy, is the same. It's the same as as partnering with spooks. So especially the fact that they're so they're so critical of how their
35:07Rod Palmer narrative and framing and perspective is, reflected back at them from,
35:13Richard Greaser the the industry. It's all very interesting. Yeah. I'm glad those guys don't go to the conference. They'd be really gay if they did. Yeah.
35:23Rod Palmer That would be Honestly, yeah. The I would say that the only thing that could possibly make the Bitcoin conference worse than it already is is if people like Plattator came. That would make it worse. If Matthew Kratt or Plattator and some of these other guys, came to the Bitcoin conference, it would be worse. That's the only way it could be worse.
35:43Richard Greaser Yep. I was really happy. I brought my special underwear with me so I didn't get a boner when I when I saw Dennis Porter. I was,
35:50Rod Palmer I wore that too, but it didn't work. It did not work. I still got a boner.
35:55Richard Greaser Yeah. And one of the complaints that I heard from a lot of women running around the conference was that, they felt uncomfortable because Dennis was there, and so all the men were running around with boners.
36:06Rod Palmer It just felt kinda weird. Yeah. They said they didn't. They knew that the men were not trying to be aggressive, but it's just once they saw Dennis Porter and got boners, everything got uncomfortable. It was nobody's fault but Dennis'. But, you know If I if I was a mild
36:25Richard Greaser if I was a mildly attractive woman and I saw a man running around with a boner and it wasn't because of me, I'd probably be offended too.
36:32Rod Palmer Right. You know? Yeah. I I I heard one I was kind of, kinda overhearing some conversations between other people in the expo hall, and there was, like, a boy a man and a woman. It could have been husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend. I don't know. But they were arguing. And she was telling them, like, she that she didn't want a Dennis Porter boner. She wanted a love boner. She wanted her husband to have a boner because he loved her and thought she was attractive, not because she saw Dennis Porter.
37:00Rod Palmer And I I think I could probably I think I could probably empathise with that. You know? You want your you want your partner to be in love with you, not just
37:08Richard Greaser erect because they saw Dennis Porter. Totally. This is the reason why they're calling Ross a shitcoiner is because he Justin Son gave him a banana. Duh. Yeah. I mean, would would you pick a banana from Justin Son if he offered you a banana?
37:21Rod Palmer Well, it's a $6,000,000 banana. That's the that's the thing. That's a $6,000,000 banana with duct tape on it.
37:28Richard Greaser But, you know, just refuse it, personally.
37:32Rod Palmer I don't want this I don't want a dirty, stinky banana in my hotel room going rotten. It would it would be terrible.
37:38Richard Greaser No. I don't want that. I mean, if I brought that home, my my my wife would look at me and call me a retard, and she'd be right.
37:46Rod Palmer I'd I wouldn't take the banana. There's no way. I don't think why I don't think Ross's wife is I think he's probably got another six months before she's allowed to call him a retard again. Yeah. Probably gotta give him a year.
37:57Richard Greaser She's just so happy he's home. She she's probably just like, yeah. You gotta keep the banana in the garage. Like, we're not sure if he's in the house.
38:05Rod Palmer Yeah. Keep the banana in the garage or keep it in your man cave at the basement upstairs. We're not we're not, you know, I decorated. We're we're you don't have a good taste yet. Mhmm. What a funny,
38:19Richard Greaser funny situation. What a funny reason to be upset.
38:23Rod Palmer Well, there's another thing is everybody is people want to be the people who get credit for calling Ross being a shit coiner when he find inevitably does it. So Dieter and these guys are like, see, I called this. I said it before he even got out that he would become a shit coiner, and they just wanna be right. That's really all it is. So you know who I met who was fun meeting?
38:46Richard Greaser Asahana Gold.
38:48Rod Palmer Oh, yeah.
38:50Richard Greaser How was that? It was good. It was funny. I, you know, I wanted to size him up because I wanted to I wanted to see how he would, how I thought he would do it in a fight against Shinobi. And I think it'd be a pretty fair fight. I think Shinobi's got a little bit of reach and and weight on him, but he seems pretty scrappy. He seems You made
39:13Rod Palmer a good point, though, that Shinobi has been training and watching anime and samurai movies. So he's like, Shinobi's not coming into this fight just flailing arms and no technique. Shinobi's coming in with nunchucks, sais. He's gonna have those, like, throwing ninja throwing stars. Asahana Gold is
39:35Rod Palmer gonna have to get in close and do, like, a wrestler takedown and and kinda keep Shinobi from being able to use his reach and his samurai training from watching anime
39:45Richard Greaser to be able to take him down. I wouldn't wanna fight Shinobi because, you know, you you try to hit him and he just Naruto runs around circles around you in the ring. Like, I Yeah. Like, I've been told by people at the Chicago bit devs that he doesn't even own a car. He just Naruto runs around the city,
40:08Richard Greaser and that's how he gets, from place to place. It I I heard he doesn't even go on airplanes. Like, he just Naruto runs.
40:16Rod Palmer Yeah. I've heard that I've heard that in the summertime, Shinobi will run Naruto run down the, the the Lake Michigan, like, beach. And, like, the the wind that he creates from his speed is so like, that's what cools down the beachgoers and kind of gives waves to the, to the people kinda out in the water. It's like it's it's almost like he's a public good. Like, Chicago needs shinobi to neruda run-in the summer down the beach.
40:43Richard Greaser I didn't ask Asahana if he's got any, you know, secret skill sets like that. He he is a pretty talented artist, but I I just don't know how that transfers into,
40:54Rod Palmer you know, the fighting arena. You know what I mean? Hell, yeah. Well, somebody who I ran into, which was really a pleasure as well, was the Canadian Dennis Porter, Brad Mills. I I walked up to I walked up to Brad, and he was talking to Brecky. And Brecky was just about to sell his giant Bitcoin rock that he carved. He's really good sculpture, by the way, and
41:20Rod Palmer I told Brad, I said, Hey, Canada needs you right now. You You need to be orange pill and the politicians are What are you doing here in Las Vegas? And he gave me a big hug and we took a selfie together. But, yeah, Brad Mills is great. And Brad Mills told us he wants to be on the podcast, and he gave me his phone number. So I'm going to text him every single day and ask him to be on this podcast until he comes on.
41:42Richard Greaser Great. Well, that'd be an interesting interview. Yeah. I mean, it was all it was an interesting week. I'd to be honest, I'm glad it's over. I'm tired. I need some rest. I'm glad I'm glad it is over. It was, it was quite the spectacle to witness.
42:00Richard Greaser It always is. It's always it's the it's the PodCom Super Bowl. It's the the biggest spectacle,
42:08Rod Palmer in It's a freak show. It's a freak show. You know what? Bitcoin ever gets boring, it's done. It's over. It's cooked. It's captured. If Bitcoin ossifies, it becomes bore. If the culture ossifies or the protocol ossifies, it is toast. It is captured. As long as Bitcoin
42:27Rod Palmer remains retarded, as long as Bitcoin remains a freak show, as long as the Bitcoin commerce remains an absolute goon spectacle, Bitcoin has already, you know, Bitcoin will continue to already have won. The the minute that stops, it's over. So I hope that the next Bitcoin Conference is more autistic, more retarded and more of a spectacle
42:50Richard Greaser than this year was because that's that means it is still healthy and strong. Well, I think we're committed to making more of a spectacle next year. The the nice thing Yeah. The the next PodCon Super Bowl is gonna be in Vegas. And, so we kinda scoped it out. We we know what's going on. We know where the things are. And I think it's it's gonna be even better next year. I'm looking forward to it. But, yeah, anyways, I wanna go through the booths, and then I wanna go to sleep.
43:20Richard Greaser Preach. We sold some T shirts at the event. That was cool. But if you wanna get Beagle T shirts, go to orangelabel.co. Yeah. First boost, late stage HODL, 10,000 sass. Is apparently I forgot to boost the last episode. I'm such an idiot. I can't wait to see how big, fake, and gay the conference is. I hope your live event is big, real, and awesome. It's proof I'm an idiot because I won't be there to smoke things with you.
43:52Richard Greaser I had a zen this past weekend and felt it felt real fake and gay. Well, yeah, zens are pretty fake and gay. You know, one of the things I'm pretty committed to late stage Huddl is, getting around more, doing more events, not just around the conference, around the country. So we've been brainstorming ideas on that. I'd like to do a couple events, before the end of the year. We'll we'll see if we can pull it off or not because it's we got a lot of going on in this operation. There's a lot of moving pieces,
44:24Richard Greaser a lot of things to be doing. And, unfortunately, traveling to these events takes away from our ability to, you know, be able to do all those things all the time. But, there will be opportunities to smoke cigarettes with this in the future. The conference wasn't as gay and fake as it could have been, because Matthew Crowder wasn't there.
44:48Richard Greaser But, our event was pretty pretty awesome. It was a good time. I I think it was the only the only event in Bitcoin that had an emphasis on smoking cigarettes ever. The first No. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely, it was. And everybody was pumped about it. They wanted to smoke cigs. I bummed out a lot of cigarettes, but one of the nice things is a lot of people brought their own. And, that just showed
45:14Richard Greaser general commitment to their own personal success and and well-being, and that that was cool to see. Oh, yeah. The next one is,
45:23Rod Palmer 7777 stats from Open Mic from Toonster. Bugle Mile High Club, riding high post Vegas, listening to the podcast on the way home from Vegas. Yeah.
45:39Rod Palmer I I I I remember running into Open Mic, but I don't think we had much time to talk. Did you have much time to talk with him?
45:45Richard Greaser Yeah. I talked with open mic for a little bit, and, that was really cool. That was that was one of the highlights of of the trip was my brief interaction, with him. Unfortunately, it was right before the event started, so I was a little bit overwhelmed with, all the stuff going on, all the people there. So I didn't get as much time to talk to him as as I would have liked to, but,
46:11Richard Greaser I hope to spend a lot of time with Open Mike in the future. Really, really, really cool dude. Really enjoyed meeting him. Looking forward to talking to him more in the future. Cool dude. Like what he's building. Like what he's about. I I heard the Las Vegas event was really good. So I heard he he put on a really good,
46:35Richard Greaser event, and that's awesome to hear. Well, thank you for the boost, Mike. Jason c 2,100 says, dear Ron and Dick, I'm Gen x and need to confess that I've become very attracted to Bitcoin treasury companies. I can't help myself, and it's eating
46:52Richard Greaser into my 40 HPW and SAS stack. Please send advice after your stay in Vegas. After you slay in Vegas
46:60Rod Palmer Oh. Which we did. We slayed them. Listen, Jason. You're not alone. There's a lot of people, especially boomers. So you're maybe you're like one of those old souls. You should you have the boomer soul instead of that Gen x soul, but you're very attracted to Bitcoin Treasure. Listen. It's it's talk to fundamentals about it. Fundamentals had a great video. He was featured on Simply Bitcoin,
47:27Rod Palmer Beyond Bitcoin with Oceans a few weeks ago. And he talks about this. He talks about how he doesn't think it doesn't impress fundamentals. He doesn't think it's that clever. He thinks it's a good use of money and capital by a corporation, but he just doesn't think it's that clever. And I think once you listen to fundamentals talk about how unimpressed he is with Bitcoin treasury companies,
47:50Rod Palmer I think you'll be like, oh shit, like that's not nearly as cool as I thought and now I have something to say when people try to talk about treasury companies where I could be like, it's not that it's not that clever. And once you once you could talk to somebody else and say why you think it's boring and and you kinda ruined their, new excitement about a new Bitcoin treasury company, then you'll you'll feel confident in doing so. I think you just need to have the confidence to say you think it's gay. That's somebody's personal advice.
48:19Richard Greaser I I would just encourage you to go read Ayn Rand. Go read Atlas Shrugged. That'll that'll probably, make you less interested, in the phenomenon. It it's just a trend. And I can understand Yeah.
48:36Richard Greaser Following the trends can seem excited exciting. It can seem like, you know, your your experience on like, I I would like to hear more about what the attraction is. Like, what what gets you all excited about it? Is it being a part of the trend?
48:55Richard Greaser Is it,
48:57Rod Palmer just I think I think a good summary, now that you've put it in that perspective, is that Bitcoin treasury companies are just broccoli haircuts for boomers. It's just a broccoli haircut for a boomer. You know? Like, they think it makes them cool. They're gonna show up. They're like, yo, fam. No cap. Bitcoin treasury company just dropped, and I just bought a bunch of shares. It's up 20 of 27%
49:21Rod Palmer in the past six hours. I'm a genius. And once that once that trend kinda dies out, it you'll just people will just look back on it. Like, we're gonna look back on broccoli haircuts and be like, what was that idiot thinking? Yeah. Yeah. Whatever the boomers are doing, you don't wanna be doing it. You know what I mean?
49:39Richard Greaser You wanna be doing the opposite of what the boomers do did. Unless unless you're, like, just a very, like, nihilistic person that just, like, doesn't care about creating a better future for your children, then you can follow what the boomers are doing. But if you genuinely care about yourself, you care about the future, and you don't wanna just be a complete loser, like, avoid what
50:03Richard Greaser the avoid what the boomers are doing.
50:06Rod Palmer Yeah. Boomers boomers are the ones going to the the nude beaches and buying Bitcoin treasury companies, destroying the real estate market, gambling away their Social Security at the at the casino. Just don't just do the opposite of what they do. Follow millennials like Dennis Porter, like Bitcoin podcasters.
50:29Rod Palmer Like, they kinda have a better better grasp on what the signal is and culture. But, man, yeah, back on back on the chain with Jason and fundamentals, the fish and Bitcoin podcast kinda hybrid. Go check that out. Thank you, Jason c. The,
50:48Rod Palmer the next boost is from Blizza, the man, the the legend. I think I I think if we look back, I think Blizzah has boosted every single episode at this point. He boosts us 1,010 stats. The new regiment Rod is on really seems to be working and helping his voice sound less raspy. Thank you, Blizzah. It has been a lot of work, and it has been a lot of practice, and it's been inconsistent at times.
51:14Rod Palmer But, I'm glad that the results are are bearing fruit.
51:21Richard Greaser I agree. I I think it's a serious improvement for sure. Well, thanks for the boost, Bliza. Next one, doesn't look like there's, any comment. Five hundred sats from Turkey. Thank you, Turkey. I'll take the next one up to you. Bob John, 416 sats says, I couldn't stand the previous voice in your thanks for smoking less cigs.
51:42Rod Palmer Well, I didn't smoke less cigs. I did not smoke less cigs. I just I'm I'm doing something about my voice. In fact, I smoked more cigs in the past week than I have probably
51:51Richard Greaser in any previous week in a long time. But, glad you like the improvement. Oh, it is? Because what happens when you're running around in Vegas and you're surrounded by all these stupid boomers, you just get you you gotta compensate for just all the negative energy that you're around by smoking more cigarettes. You know? Negative boomer energy
52:10Rod Palmer and unmitigated EMP energy. It's just a lot of bad energies coming at you. Smoking cigarettes just really helps with that. The last I think this is the last no. It's not the last one. But the next one is from BTC onboard, L enhancer CTV 300 sats. Two thumbs up and two lightning emojis. Thank you, BTC onboard. Looks like these are going in different orders.
52:34Richard Greaser Next one I got is, oh, wait. Justin Bianchi.
52:40Rod Palmer Those are just those are that's just a a double boost.
52:44Richard Greaser Oh, I see. Next one is Larry Yoshi Finkamoto, a 100 sentences. I'm a millennial who identifies as a boomer. Yeah. That's a rough spot to be in, dude. I'm I'm not even gonna make fun of you for that, because it just seems like really, you know, just like awful existence, and I'm really sorry that's happening to you. Yeah. If there's anything that we can do to help you out of that funk,
53:09Rod Palmer maybe re or just recharge your node or restart your node, maybe restart your bid acts, try to get you back on the right path. Let us know.
53:20Richard Greaser Yeah. If you need tech support for my wife, need to learn how to use your iPhone, you need somebody to talk you off the cliff, you know, if you sat through a timeshare presentation,
53:32Rod Palmer we're here for you. Yeah. If you sold all your fold stock for a timeshare in, Deerfield Beach, Florida, you know, and you're feeling regret about that, let us know. We'll try to help you out here. The next one? Alright. Here we go. I knew we were gonna have to get into this eventually. Pies got a little bit a little bit defensive, and he's he's holding us accountable. Supplies hit us with a 100 sats. Don't be shitting on fish. Holding you. Even as I I held you accountable too. That was all you. Even as hip hop head, I followed fish years ago, bumping tribe called quest on my on my boombox, eat mushrooms, smoke a weed, shout out to fundamentals, mushroom, mushroom, mushroom emoji,
54:15Rod Palmer flex, flex, flex emoji. Thank you for holding me accountable, Pies. Pies hit us with the next, two, boosts as well for 100 sats. You'll need to come out to the East Coast and smoke tobacco, mix weed and blunts with us. Mushroom, mushroom, mushroom. Flex, flex, flex, cigarette, cigarette, emoji. Pies, I don't want to speak too soon, but I do want to tell you
54:39Rod Palmer that we will be coming out to the East Coast relatively soon to be determined or to be announced. We'll be doing some shows and if you don't show up we're gonna kick your ass. Alright? You gotta come out. We're gonna show up all all the fucking Shadrach fundamentals, me, Jason, probably get Rob Hamilton involved. We'll probably get whoever we need to get involved. And we're gonna come, we're gonna kick your ass if you don't come party with us.
55:06Rod Palmer So remember that. I'm holding you accountable. Last boost from Pies, a 100 stats, fucking retarded boomers. There we go. Let's send it on a good note. Fuck the retarded boomers. Finger middle finger emoji, mushroom, mushroom, mushroom, flex, flex, flex emoji. Thank you so much, Pies. Well, yeah. Thank you everybody for the boost. I I am so excited
55:27Richard Greaser to go to sleep. That was a long week. That was a long week. Recharge your podcast headphones.
55:35Rod Palmer What's that? Time to recharge your headphones. Everybody's gotta take some time to recharge their podcast headphones.
55:42Richard Greaser Yeah. Well, you know, what I've learned from doing the the podcast Super Bowl over the years is the following week, you know, is about scrolling Twitter, looking at what everybody's mad about. You know, when you go there, there's not really a whole lot of time to sit and listen to people talk on stage.
56:04Richard Greaser And they'll be the same things that, you already heard them all say on the podcast. You're you're going and you're talking to the podcasters there in person. You're talking to the people making the news in person. You're digging into the stories. But if there's anything interesting, people on Twitter are probably mad about it. Then we'll curate it for you so you can go back and
56:25Richard Greaser Yes. Talk.
56:27Rod Palmer So thank you for that. Yeah. Apparently, for me, getting back from the conference, is about making Matthew Crater cry. There's a lot of people in my DMs this weekend demanding that I apologize for making Matthew Crater cry, but I refuse. I think there's no crying in Bitcoin podcasts.
56:46Rod Palmer If you can't take it, don't dish it. But once once again, if you came out to satirize the system, you saw us in Vegas, you smoked cigarettes with a thank you barn miner for the precision screwdriver, the, and the the forty hours per week Zippo and putting that to good use. Thank you to everybody who came out. Thank you for Mandrake for giving us the baklava. Thank you to
57:12Rod Palmer Uncoverable Misfits for, for supporting us and Zeus Wallet. Thank you to all the podcasters and podcast listeners who showed up. And, we're we're doing some next one's gonna be even bigger and better, so look out for that. Thank you everybody for tuning in to this edition of Uno Weekly, and we'll catch you on the next show.
57:38Rod Palmer It's
57:47Unknown for yourself if you choose, but if you don't, you will likely lose. In a society who's cheap for you is to comply, it's always dangerous to choose to defy. There's certainty and stability that comes with trust, but learning to believe in yourself requires you to adjust. Why limit yourself? Believe in silly fantasies. Returning nothing is wrong. It's not a good strategy. Almost everything you see is made by spooks. The world is on the verge.
58:56Unknown System only works with your consent. They'll give you enough to try and keep you content. Politicians will try and tell you what you wanna hear. And if that doesn't work, they will try to use fear. It's not fun living in the matrix, but you can learn to see how they play tricks. Self respect is the facts, they pull the lies off the TV. You must break your chains in order to be free. Look people in the eye when you speak. The future doesn't have to look bleak.
59:53Unknown But it requires action. Servitude is not exciting because it means self denial. You can't buy satisfaction in the store aisle. Altruism is a tool to pull the wool over your eyes, rejecting it. You must do it yourself back? Death is only getting nearer.
1:00:40Unknown Don't get down, folks. Not all is lost inside you is the solution. Have a little faith in yourself. You can use your brain. Making memes and telling the truth will keep you sane. The problem lies inside each and every one of you. And inside
