+**Mr. Monopoly** is the mustachioed Hasbro board-game mascot and, as of June 2024, the face of the United States $100 bill, replacing Benjamin Franklin. He is the only known figure on US currency whose prior work was also money that isn't real.

+His elevation was announced by Treasury Secretary [[characters/janet-yellen|Janet Yellen]] in January 2023 as part of a joint Hasbro–Treasury marketing campaign to keep the youth interested in the dollar and away from cryptocurrencies ([[news/mr-monopoly-to-replace-benjamin-franklin|Mr. Monopoly to Replace Benjamin Franklin On $100 Bill]]). Hasbro was subsequently rumored to be working with the World Economic Forum on designs for other state currencies.
