I you know, when I think of metal music, and I'm experienced with metal music in The United States, I think of kinda like the working class individual. I think of like a mechanic, not Bitcoin mechanic, like a real mechanic. Somebody that actually fixes things instead of just, you know, fiddling with, you know, Plaid's emotions all day. Just, you know, blaring some, like, Metallica or some Patera or, you know, maybe some some newer stuff, some Battlecore, As I Lay Dying, Avenged Sevenfold, you know, something like that. Working in their mechanic shop, they they got some high testosterone

1:18Richard Greaser because they're, you know, lifting heavy things and and doing real work. But, you know, the the prog metal genre is a new genre to me, and it's just it it it's been, you know, eye opening to realize that there's these other subcultures

1:35Richard Greaser out there that are significantly more nerdy than the Bitcoin ecosystem. I I I just thought we were pretty nerdy, but turns out, you know, maybe not so much or or maybe not so much anymore at this point. It's it's kinda been cool. Women like to hang around at at least a lot more than this. But, you know, but it's been, very illuminating

1:58Richard Greaser in a lot of ways, being on this side of the music world, you because as you said, an area I've not seen before, even consider me a embedded journalist on the tour right now. And, you know, it's been cool seeing these guys and the way that they operate behind the scenes. They're they're true professionals, true professional musicians, just really, dedicated to their craft. And I don't know. I I mean, I think this is one of the coolest experiences I've had in my life to be able to do do this. I know there's gonna be a lot of our listeners or going to be at their show in Chicago,

Waha, one of our subscribers and and and listeners, he's on this tour with me, and he keeps on asking me when are we gonna put out the the new vehicle weekly episode. He's been Jonesin', and I've been jonesing to record something because, folks, it has been a wild time in Bitcoin right now. And it seems like I I think a lot of us are under the assumption it's going to continue to stay wild here for a little bit. That, you know, as we're entering into the first turning, you know, there are headwinds. It's rebuilding everything

3:36Richard Greaser is not an easy process. And we're seeing it now. It's the liquid network just got hacked for 4,000 Bitcoin, which is kind of impressive that they had for for people who are just starting to use Liquid in a variety of ways. There were there were some wallets like Nano Wallet, Bold Bitcoin Wallet, Aqua Wallet, and they were trying to get UST. I I think people are realizing that, Ethereum and Tron probably have a better UX for sending your stable coins on than on liquid, so I don't know what to make sense of that. There there's some concerns around the Lightning Network. There's just a a lot of services that are getting hacked. Trezor

4:17Richard Greaser is essentially, you know, publishing unintentionally or, you know, they're everybody that bought a Trezor, like, their their information's out there now, which is cool. I mean, it's just the there there's this realization I think many of us are coming to that if you use a Bitcoin service of any sort, whether it's an exchange, whether it's a wallet, you should probably use a throwaway email, and you should probably either use a fake address or, you know, if you're ordering it to your home, move away

4:47Richard Greaser from that address because it will be available. Everybody will be able to search it here soon. I mean, the same thing goes for if you buy a pack of cigarettes at a convenience store, and you have to KYC, you have to show them your ID, you buy, you know, some beer or whatever.

5:06Richard Greaser All of that data is out there too. Your driver's license has is probably getting sold on the Internet if you, KYC'd. So this is really an argument for the importance of of non KYC services of, you know, buying your cigarettes non KYC. But, yeah, we're we're we're watching all of this play out, and there's a bunch of flaming going on. You know, Cali and Red Team pointing a finger at at Sampson saying that they told Sampson that that they had a vulnerability to clean it up. And, you know, Sampson said that he doesn't listen to people with AI psychosis, and so they're they're slinging mud back and forth. It's getting messy. It's getting entertaining.

5:46Richard Greaser You know, wallets are being unusable right now. The the wallet issuers or or creators or maintainers or whatever you wanna call it, they are not giving their customers any guidance on what to do. I think white boy summer is officially over. We've made out it out of that now that we're past Labor Day, and

6:10Richard Greaser people are crashing out at BB again. The war in The Middle East is popping off. You you probably been watching it. You probably been watching gas prices going up. Maybe back to monitoring the sis situation again as it is getting a little bit more interesting. You know, these wars, they they happen, you know, there there's an excitement around the novelty of them of monitoring the situation of the of the new thing that's happened, but, you know, the way that our brains are conditioned in the news cycle, they get boring after about two weeks unless there are perpetual escalations. And we've been dealing with years of the news telling us that Russia's threatening to nuke everybody, and, you know, similar things, news about somebody bombing somebody somewhere. And so people were kinda getting bored of it. But now that the Houthis

6:60Richard Greaser run around trying to block another straight in the Red Sea, you know, and and people are screaming about diesel prices, people are getting more interested in in wanting to monitor the situation again. And and this is all coming at the end of white boy summer. So folks, I hope that you had a wonderful white boy summer, that you took some time off, that you got some mosquito bites. And and boy, did I get mosquito bites. I just got destroyed this summer just contributing to the local circular economy when it when it comes to the the the food system. You know, the Bitcoin people, we like the idea of circular economies. We wanna build a circular economy of people exchanging Bitcoin with each other, you know, and part of that is, like, you we wanna buy our beef. But, you know, getting mosquito bites and and mosquito bites mosquitoes are an important part of the food chain. They're the base even though they're a nuisance, and it is giving back. It is exchanging in this

7:58Richard Greaser value for value ecosystem building I forgot what Rev Hoddle would call it, natural capital, maybe. But, yeah, I mean, it's been a busy summer. So I saw some of you guys at Lake Satoshi. It was, you know, a fun time. It was really overshadowed by the cold card incident. It's it's one of those minutes, you know, where I'm recording this on 09:11. A lot of people, you know, been talking about

8:23Richard Greaser where they were September 11 when the towers fell, when when, Howard Lutnick, you know, pulled that fast one on everybody,

8:34Richard Greaser I think we're gonna all remember where we were during the the coal cart incident, obviously, like Satoshi with with a bunch of folks. Some of which were impacted by it, some of which weren't, but it was all, you know, nerve wracking nonetheless. So, you know, a lot of people are I've I've heard a lot of people questioning self custody. They've been questioning their conviction in Bitcoin. You know, things have we we had a pump. We had a big pump, and it's been trading sideways since. And and I don't think really anybody really knows where the price is going. Many of us believe it will go up eventually. You know, in these moments, in these bear market moments of uncertainty, you just kinda many of us just resort to repeating the pump swap talking points that we've heard over and over on podcasts. Like, you know, when you're going to sleep at night and you're having trouble sleeping because you're thinking about the Bitcoin price, you're just repeating to yourself over and over again. Nothing stops this train. Nothing stops this train. Nothing stops this train. And,

9:31Richard Greaser you know, the the plump, slop, sleep, not things can get you through these these moments that are difficult, that even the individual that has been listening to forty Hours of Bitcoin podcast for years and, understands the laws of thermodynamic, sees the world through first principles, and has been maintaining various purity tests, their conviction might be shaken. But we live in this time where you know, there's a tremendous amount of uncertainty

9:58Richard Greaser and and a huge part of it is because of a lack of accountability, a lack of integrity, a lack of personal responsibility. There's been a lot of offloading of responsibility onto others. You have the the older generations looting the younger generations by just issuing tons of debt. The debt is spiraling.

10:18Richard Greaser The bond market's crazy. You got boomer doomers freaking out about it, like as if this stuff was unpredictable. And now they see the end of the world. But it's not the end of the world because they will no longer be in charge. And individuals that have a stake in the future and have not made it are gonna come up with creative solutions on not only how to get out of these troubling circumstances that we find ourselves in, these trying economic times, but also how to thrive through them. And

10:50Richard Greaser this is the thing that is wonderful about the free market that many people oftentimes fail to understand is people will find creative solutions in a distributed way without a, a central authority dictating it. But, you know, in many of these circumstances where things are going crazy and they're confusing, individuals will look to a central authority, what they're doing, and

11:15Richard Greaser either blame them for the problems or, you know, beg them to present a solution, whether it is a a government or whatever. But going through the end of the year, I think it we're gonna see this massive rise of Kayfabe. It's very predictable on the social media sites, and and we're already seeing it a lot. But they're gonna be deploying influencers left and right to be trying to convince you to vote for a politician like it matters. Like, the the whole world seems to be kind of posturing around this next selection of politicians. You got the Iranians and the Houthis are trying to, you know, influence the world economy. It's trying to influence

11:56Richard Greaser these selections. But I think as you know, nothing particularly is going to change as a result of them in regards to the the broader macro stuff going on. There's there's gonna be individuals in power that are still wanting to sacrifice your children to Moloch. There are still people that are gonna try and make your life hard by making it unaffordable for you to pay your taxes. And, honestly, it is just like these these things are are bipartisan issues, but, you know, there there is some concern coming up about the radical nature of some of these candidates that are in this new political cycle. You got socialism is becoming popular, and and so is, you know, kind of alternative right wing leaning stuff. And I think part of why it is is this is just like a natural market response of, like, the average

12:46Richard Greaser American person right now is so worn out by the cafe. I was at a, Jesse Wells concert after, Lake Satoshi. If you've not heard of Jesse Wells, he is a great folk singer, and Bubba turned me on to him. But, yeah, after this, definitely go look him up, listen to some of his songs. He he kinda is a is a folk singer that that sounds like a Bitcoiner, like a doomer Bitcoiner in a lot of ways. And I was in Indianapolis. I was at this concert. I was surrounded by a bunch of, like, shitlabs, and he was like, he's not necessarily a shitlobe. He doesn't really seem to have any sort of, like, clear political agenda other than just, like, like, being frustrated with the the current happenings, and and he seems to have his, finger on the pulse pretty well. But you can just tell. You just look around. Like, these people are worn out. And

13:35Richard Greaser while many of them were a bunch of, you know, shit libs or, you know, whatever, there there were a a variety of individuals and from all different persuasions. Well, you just, like, see in their eyes, they're just tired. They're they're tired of the bullshit. They're tired of the Epstein files. They're tired of not having faith in the country. And and on the Converse, I went to a rodeo recently, and it it was quite an odd experience because they had much of, like, the the pro neocon, kayfabe that you would expect at, you know, a function like that. But it was just it it was very strange because of the way that the kfabe was presented. They had a they had an elephant that they were marching around, and it was very hot. The elephant looked really sad, and they were marching an elephant around in front of, like, 5,000 people,

14:21Richard Greaser people and they played the national anthem on a speaker. They had 5,000 people at this event. They couldn't they couldn't figure out how to get somebody to actually sing it. And it was just, like, one of the strangest spectacles where, you know, there was a time in American history where the the neocon, kayfabe hit hard, where people were excited about the prospect of going and bombing a bunch of brown people in The Middle East to, you know, to get revenge from nine eleven. And it's it's not so much the case today. Like, you know, a lot of individuals will look at the Iran war, and they will say that it wasn't you know, it hasn't been explained to them why the war is being fought. They don't understand what's going on. You know, the the excuse for bombing Iran right now and screwing things up with the global supply chains is that they can't have nuclear war or else they'll bomb BB in Israel. That's an excuse the American establishment is making. But there is a much larger global event happening with a restructure

15:21Richard Greaser of the production of energy and the ownership of energy. And I was talking with Rod, and one of the things we we were talking about is about these crises that come up. And what Trump learned from COVID was that you can, create a crisis, and then you can do whatever you want. You can cut a bunch of regulatory red tape. You can roll out a vaccine that makes everybody infertile in terms of gay and get away with it, and nobody will question it. And they'll they'll largely thank you for it. Now what we're watching right now is we're seeing a massive increase

15:55Richard Greaser in power consumption around the world with these data centers, and we're seeing an energy crisis. And we're also seeing, you know, to produce new energy, to explore more, to, to drill, there is an incredible amount of red tape. And so I I don't necessarily have a strong, conclusive opinion yet, but I'm watching these things happening. And just knowing that many of the things that we're told aren't accurate. Many of the things that we hear on podcast from these doomer boomers are not accurate either. And that there there's a lot going on. So it's just it's been something to watch for as I'm reading Mark Goodwin and Whitney Webb's work as they're talking about the development of what's happening in Argentina, South America, in Ohio, and all these various places, the the connections, the people involved. Like, why is Peter Thiel living

16:45Richard Greaser in Argentina right now? That's a that's a pretty big development after, you know, this Malay guy got elected. There there's a a giant global reshuffling. The happenings of the global South are very interesting right now. And, I think it's a good time to, keep a level head. I think it's a good time to

17:07Richard Greaser And, you know, there's a very real possibility we get we get this wonderful, magical Bitcoin bull market that, many of us have been waiting for and anticipating. But people are crashing out left and right, and, you know, they're they're crashing and burning on the frontier. And so my question is to you to think about, what are you doing to not crash out? I I don't know if I talked about this on the show, but I got to experience the rev huddle experience. I went to his, little settlement that he's got going, his house on the prairie, and got the whole permaculture tour in in, you know, I've I've sat and I've listened to Rev Hoddle explain permaculture on corny chat, quite a few times. So I I thought it was gonna be repetitive, but, you know, to go in and do it in person was absolutely incredible. And, it was just great to see it in practice. Great guy. Has some awesome lamb meat and and just, like, the best maple syrup. I mean, his maple syrup is so great. And it was it was cool to see where he harvest the maple syrup too. But, you know, Rev Hoddle does do stays if you wanna stay, and he does tours when he stay there. And that's it's a great hang.
