+> *Henry's note: rebuilt from the beat index — 15 beats across 13 episodes, coverage COMPLETE. The prior body was a mechanical mention-list and is replaced here.*
    +
+**Hodl Magoo** is Bitcoin Twitter's resident grump as the Bugleverse renders it: a
+pundit and Spaces host whom the show treats as a standing antagonist of the
+timeline — litigious with his opinions, quick to declare everyone else low-IQ, and,
+to the hosts' recurring irritation, often right. He is the man the crew agree on
+disliking without agreeing on much else. [[characters/rod-palmer|Rod Palmer]] rules
+him firmly outside the show's in-crowd — "Mister Hoddle is not a fellow intellectual
+silk rotor"[^notsilk] — and the verdict the show returns to most is
+[[characters/richard-greaser|Greaser]]'s nine-word summary of a man it cannot
+dismiss and will not embrace: "that annoying little fucker was right."[^right]
    +
+The ASR cannot spell him either. Across thirteen episodes he arrives as *Hottle
+Magoo, Hoddle Magoo, Huddl Magoo, Hanel Magoo, Havel Magoo, Halal Magoo, Audible
+Magoo, Tahlel McGhee* and *huddle madoo* — see the note on the name.
    +
    +## The timeline's grump (2024)
    +
+He enters the record as a poll rival and a conspiracy theorist. Tied overnight by
+Becca in the [[storylines/maxi-madness|Maxi Madness]] bracket after
+[[characters/michael-saylor|Michael Saylor]] tweeted that he'd voted for her, Magoo
+reaches for the only available explanation — "And Magoo says, c I CIA rigs another
+election"[^cia] — which Rod folds straight into his theory of a Saylor–CIA link via
+MicroStrategy's shared border with Langley. He is soon a fixture of the show's
+punditry roll-calls: named among the cast when Rod pitches
+[[characters/robert-breedlove|Robert Breedlove]]'s Art of Alpha retreat as a reality
+show,[^retreat] and named as host of the Spaces in which
+[[characters/dennis-porter|Dennis Porter]] announced he would be announcing "his
+twenty twenty eight presidential candidacy."[^porter] By year's end the show even
+files him among the pundits who called the strategic Bitcoin reserve early —
+"even Audible Magoo"[^sbr] — a rare credit, and the cue that gives the aliases their
    +"Audible Magoo."
    +
+## Low-IQ word of the day
    +
+The bit that defines him is his own: the "low IQ word of the day," a scold he posts
+to condemn whatever term the timeline is overusing. The show weaponizes it back at
+him — when the *decoupling* meme collapses, Rod dates the death to the moment Magoo
+weighed in: "the next thing you see is like low IQ word of the day decoupling, my
+huddle madoo."[^decouple] The posture makes him enemies. When the options trader
+Josh Mandel called Bitcoin's exact $84,000 close and then a run to the top, the show
+noted with relish that Mandel had "doubled down" while "betting against Hodel Magoo,
+who was calling him, you know, a scammer"[^mandel] — Magoo cast, as usual, as the
+skeptic on the wrong side of a print.
    +
    +## Antiswanitism
    +
+His longest-running feud is with [[sponsors/swan-bitcoin|Swan Bitcoin]] and its
+alumni, catalogued under [[storylines/swan-bitcoin-scandals|the Swan scandals]] as a
    +case of [[memes/antiswantism|antiswanitism]] — the show's coinage for reflexive
    +Swan-hatred. In [[storylines/swan-bitcoin-scandals|Behind The Podcast 12]],
+[[characters/btckaz|Kaz]] is accused of retweeting Swan's tormentors; Rod supplies
+the evidence — "People think you might have, like, some anti Swanitism or
+something"[^swanitism] — and names Hodl Magoo among the retweeted. Kaz beats the
+charge on a technicality that becomes its own verdict: "I don't see his tweets
    +because he's blocked, so there's no chance I've retweeted anything he said,"[^blocked]
+which the hosts promptly upgrade to consensus that "Hottle Magoo sucks." Greaser
+later dates the enmity to the Prime Trust era, when Swan was being dogpiled and
+"People like Hottle Magoo were really having a field day" — with
+[[characters/udi-wertheimer|Udi Wertheimer]] "dunking, on him left and right, looking
+like LeBron James"[^primetrust] — the memory that anchors the show's rare defense of
    +[[characters/cory-klippsten|Cory Klippsten]].
    +
+## The wrestler in the trash can
    +
+Canon holds that Hodl Magoo appeared in person at the Bugle's 2025 Vegas event, and
+in costume. Greaser establishes it flatly — "Hanel Magoo, he, he was one of the
+wrestlers"[^wrestler] — and Rod adds the detail the bit is remembered for: he
+emerged from a trash can, dressed in green. Greaser notes that Magoo introduced
+himself and asked not to be named, a request the show has honored only in the sense
+that it cannot spell him anyway.
    +
    +## Right, and uninvited (2025–2026)
    +
+The late arc is the show conceding he is correct while refusing to let it count. On
    +the [[episodes/emergency-broadcast-podcasting-under-attack|emergency broadcast]],
+breaking news vindicates the legal FUD the timeline had dismissed — "Everybody was
+telling Havel Magoo, he did not know what he was talking about and his FUD
+was"[^fud] — and Greaser gives the grudging concession that becomes the page's
+epigraph, then withdraws the credit in the same breath, filing Magoo back under a man
+who "spending most of his time being surprised that Donald Trump is doing something
    +stupid."[^right]
    +
+Being right does not earn him a seat. Rod reads a listener's boost casting Magoo as
+a [[storylines/pleb-slop-wars|plebslop]]-mired sea lion, likes it enough to steal it
+— "That's a good tweet. I'm gonna steal that. Southside Dave. I'm gonna post that
+right now"[^steal] — and rules Magoo out of the
    +[[storylines/intellectual-silk-road|Intellectual Silk Road]] entirely.[^notsilk]
+When the guest list for the Saylor $100k party is drawn up, Magoo is purged under
+Rod's doctrine that anyone grumpy during Paper Bitcoin Summer forfeits attendance —
+"not getting invited"[^party] — attendance recast as a retroactive vibes audit. And
+in the last beat on record he is the exemplar of the online crash-out: while the
+hosts were physically at the conference getting hugs, "you got Hottle Magoo, you
+know, criticizing" Saylor from the timeline.[^crashout]
    +
    +## From the timeline (X)
    +
+The Bugle's own accounts keep a running dossier on Magoo, and it splits along the
+same fault line the show does: he is treated as a menace and a vindicated prophet in
+roughly equal measure, sometimes in the same week.
    +
    +### Vindication, printed
    +
    +The clawback saga the [[episodes/emergency-broadcast-podcasting-under-attack|emergency
+broadcast]] broke on air was posted the same night. The Bugle framed it as a reversal
+of the timeline's standing verdict on him:
    +
+> "Vindication for Hodl Magoo!" On last night's Emergency Broadcast livestream we broke
+> the news that Hodl Magoo, who's outspoken, widely dismissed warnings about clawback
+> risks related to the PrimeTrust bankruptcy, was right.
    +> — [@bitcoin_bugle, 2025-09-11](https://x.com/bitcoin_bugle/status/1966205323854893545)
    +
+Eight months later the paper escalated the vindication into a court ruling — the
+[[storylines/prime-trust-fallout|Prime Trust fallout]] litigated to its logical, absurd
+end, and the show's rare defense of a [[sponsors/swan-bitcoin|Swan]] antagonist made
    +official:
    +
+> BREAKING: Prime Trust Bankruptcy Judge J. Kate Stickles rules Swan CEO Cory Klippsten
+> owes Hodl Magoo and Udi Wertheimer both an apology.
    +> — [@bitcoin_bugle, 2026-05-19](https://x.com/bitcoin_bugle/status/2056848188120642013)
    +
    +![](/tweets/2056848188120642013-0.jpg)
    +
+Henry's note: the pairing is exact. It is the [[storylines/swan-bitcoin-scandals|Swan
+scandals]] cast reprised — Magoo and [[characters/udi-wertheimer|Udi Wertheimer]]
+owed an apology by [[characters/cory-klippsten|Cory Klippsten]], the same two names
+Greaser filed under the Prime Trust "field day."
    +
    +### The FUD that worked
    +
+Even the vindication is grudging. [[characters/rod-palmer|Rod Palmer]]'s account books
+Magoo's correctness as a cost the timeline paid rather than a call he made:
    +
+> people really let hodl magoo scare them into selling their bitcoin. we are so early.
    +> — [@rodpalmerhodl, 2025-04-06](https://x.com/rodpalmerhodl/status/1908967307055075500)
    +
+The FUD is real, the FUD worked, and it is still Magoo's fault for spooking the plebs
+— the show conceding the man is right without conceding he should be listened to.
    +
    +### Meme warrior
    +
+His [[storylines/maxi-madness|Maxi Madness]] bracket run gets remembered as a genuine
+result, not a fluke. PODCONF's own post-mortem of the 2025 bracket credits him by name:
    +
+> Memes aren't dead—Hodl Magoo's deep run proves meme warriors still matter.
    +> — [@_podconf, 2025-03-14](https://x.com/_podconf/status/1900393264357740626)
    +
    +And when the Bugle put a matchup to a vote, [[characters/richard-greaser|Greaser]] —
+the same man who calls him "that annoying little fucker" — sided with him without
    +elaboration:
    +
+> Hodl Magoo is my vote.
    +> — [@GreaserRichard, 2025-04-25](https://x.com/GreaserRichard/status/1915586542204068157)
    +
    +### Earned his card
    +
+The card the wiki files in this page's frontmatter has an in-universe origin: Rod
+lobbied for it publicly, and on the show's terms Magoo qualified the hard way — by
+being disliked usefully for two years straight.
    +
+> i think we're long overdue for a hodl magoo bitcoin trading card. he's earned it.
    +> — [@rodpalmerhodl, 2026-05-18](https://x.com/rodpalmerhodl/status/2056424007738458457)
    +
+The lobbying tracks with the paper's own coverage of the deck as an
    +[[news/bitcoin-trading-cards-attempts-to-make-influencer-circle-jerk-even-gayer|influencer
+circle-jerk]]; Magoo, fittingly, gets in by antagonizing the circle rather than joining it.
    +
    +### The doppelganger
    +
+A minor recurring gag holds that Magoo is not always Magoo. The Bugle replied to a
+sighting with the universe's standing hedge on his identity — of a piece with a man the
+ASR cannot spell and who asked, at Vegas, not to be named:
    +
    +> Someone said that's hodl magoo's doppleganger.
    +> — [@bitcoin_bugle, 2025-04-28](https://x.com/bitcoin_bugle/status/1916983930097692875)
    +
    +## Note on the name
    +
+The ASR renders him differently almost every time. A single stretch of the emergency
+broadcast gives *Haldamagoo, Havel Magoo* and *Halal Magoo*; elsewhere he is
+*Tahlel McGhee, Audible Magoo, Hottomague, Hoddle Magoo* and *my huddle madoo*. The
+one stable form is "Mister Hoddle," which the show uses when it wants to sound like
+it is being polite about him. Every beat above was resolved from context; the
+`aliases:` list exists so the next pass keeps hold of him.
